Deck Strategy
First off, credit to Severijn for his build of this deck which inspired me to play around with IMS and Lion Splash too. This deck is still very much at the experimental stage of design and I think it may be trying to do a little too much and will need refining as playtesting continues. But it's a nice change from the usual Phoenix/Dragon/KI classic.

So like its inspiration, the idea behind this deck is to get some high glory characters on the board and get them honoured. This can be achieved in a number of ways, namely Shameful Display, Kiku Matsuri, Guard Duty, Court Games, and the Asako Diplomat. I'm considering also trying out Gift from Amaterasu just because it's a new card and a new way to honour our characters. I'm not really sold on Kiku Matsuri yet due to the symmetrical effect which can be especially damaging if only some of the 0 or 1 glory characters are out, but it has potential.

Bow effects are all over the place these days so Ready for Battle and Against the Waves can help to protect against those, while For Shame, AtW, Midnight Revels can dish some of that medicine out. Midnight Revels requires some careful play and planning, and with Matsuri also on the province row the requirement for a low cost/high glory character on the board might prove to be too awkward leading to one being cut.

Military Pumps are plentiful in Banzai!, Legion of One (and the classic Goblin Sneak combo), the Fine Katanas and a cheeky Subdue the Spirits, while Clarity of Purpose will allow defending political conflicts without bowing and countering with that military might. On the political side, Maezawa is great especially when honoured, and Ornate Fans fill the gap.

My first impressions of Hand to Hand are good. No doubt it is more restrictive than Let Go, but it is effective nonetheless. And a couple of cancel options exist, Censure for when you have the favour (which you will at some point) and Defend your Honour for when a high military character is involved (which they will be at some point).

The Ancestral Shrine has been included for a number of reasons. It has a load of potential, but obviously needs to turn up first. It can give us some honour back which may prove to be crucial with all these duelling decks around, it can potentially combo with Ujina for double void attacks, and with Tsukune to ensure her ability fires. I've heard of this happening and it sounds sweet :) And the Magnificent Lighthouse is in these just for a little fun.

I am confident that including subdue the spirits and clarity of purpose are excellent improvements on the list I shared. You are certainly using a lot more sensible card than I was. I am surprised you do not include Keeper Initiates in here. I feel they would do well in here.

The reason I have not included Keepers is simply because I feel that Air is, most of the time, the weakest ring to go for. That's not to say they don't have a place (particularly as it may become more important post CotE with the duelling decks and associated extra honour strain), but I just prefer the other characters. A little more playtesting will hopefully determine whether or not this is the case.
