Deck Strategy
Continuing my theme of Dishonor Crab, I have built the 4th edition of my Spicy Crabcakes. With that said let me start off by saying I like Kyuden Hida...in a big towering Wall Crab deck, but not this style of crab. So here's the skinny on this crazy crustacean.

Provinces: So the province row will be Shameful, Defend the Wall, BtT and Revels. Defend them all as you should but never be afraid to let Throne break if your opponent threatens it, it can only advance your win condition depending on the situation. Under your box which remains the original one you shall place Kuni Wasteland to really throw a monkey wrench in your opponent's plans.

Honor Drain: This is your primary win condition and most of the deck is geared towards this. Before the Throne will take two honor of broken as previously stated, as does Purifier Apprentice if you win on defense. Cards like Intimidating Hida taxes opponents for not attacking and can be utilized offensively or defensively. Shadowlands Hunter is here to poke provinces and help you win the air ring which you should want for obvious reasons. He also drains an honor when he wins a conflict as attacker thanks to his ability. Backhanded Compliment is your finisher here while Watch Commander aids in draining honor. Other honor attack options are Levy, and Deceptive Offer which should be used situationally but offer you value no matter what choice is taken.

Dishonoring is also a mechanic used to whittle away honor. Shameful, For Shame, Court Games Miyako and MoS are the tools that let you do just that. The last trick to hitting your opponent's honor is low hand bids which you should do often in your matches to also help pressuring your opponent.

Defense: You'll want to defend more than attack and there are cards meant to make your stout defense even more unyielding. Your key defenders are Oguri and Borderlands Defender both offering key value. Pumps like your box, Spreading the Darkness and Deceptive Offer help to shore up your forces strength, while TMDNF keeps your key defenders upright and ready. Kuni Lab is a nice boost to your characters as well for offense or defense. All your tools used to dishonor also help by weakening your opponent's force making it hard for them to win. In Defense of Rokugan is your nuclear option for defending your stronghold province so use when you absolutely need to.

Hida Kotoe let's you bomb attachments when she wins a defense so yay attachment hate. Revels let's you bow an opponent character. Clouds and Student of Anatomies help blank pesky cards with problematic abilities.

Card Draws and Long Term Presence: Since you are gonna low bid a lot you need to be able to draw cards other ways. Cards like Funeral Pyre and Yasuki Broker help with this and synergize well together. Kaiu Envoy is also good for card drawing plus they give you a fate. Another thing is keeping cards out for a long time to keep your board state up.

Those Who Serve cheapens the cost of characters so you can pay base cost but now they have a fate on them. Reprieve and Iron Mines keeps key characters around long term as well which is key.

So that's all there really is to this deck. Hope you enjoy it or if nothing else find some kind of inspiration for your own Dishonor Crab deck. Thanks for hearing me ramble and pinch on my crabby samurai.

Updated the deck for new RL/Banned list

Simple change honestly, just dropped palace and Karada for another Witch Hunter and Kuni Lab
swapped one Witch Hunter for Hida Kisada cus my deck could use some muscle plus his ability is really really good.
Made some changes to account for the sudden tower love I've been seeing lately. Frostbitten is in over BtT which has also not been a useful province as of late even for dishonoring. Added Calling in Favors to snag good attachments from my opponent and Jade Tetsubo is back to give towers the bird....or claw I guess, either way it's back. I was also considering dropping levy but tower decks tend to run expensive or expensive enough I think the choice of an honor or a fate becomes more difficult, still gotta run that through it's paces but Levy is on thin ice right now honestly.

Anyway those are the changes to my Dishonor Crab enjoy.

this deck i like a lot...
mark of shame as a restricted...
heavy count for 1 and 2 fate characters a really like ...
what is your rank victory?
Thank you Ro, I appreciate the compliment. I've been retooling this deck a lot so it's seen a lot of play in many forms. Most of the matches I've played it in have been local stronghold events or casuals. I got called into work during he LVO so I missed that one sadly. So in regards to rank victory I don't think I have one? Or maybe I misunderstood that question.

Anyway I'm glad you this little dishonor crab deck.
Hey saw your FB post. Changes I'd make is 2x shadow Hunter and 2x broker and 2x yasuki oguri. You don't want more then one of them on board and your deck doesn't need them to still run well. I'd also go -3 borderland defenders. I'd add +3 imperial storehouse and +3 shrewed yasuki to add alot of card draw. The flaw of non-scorpion dishonor is they get to a point where you gotta bid 1 to dishonor the opponent and you will want as much card draw as possible. I personally think you should have assassination over spreading the darkness when you run way of the crab. I also like the idea of 1x warden of the damned.
Thanks for input Poogin. You're right about the card draw, it's been a big issue for me in the past and still can be. So I don't have an issue with the suggestions from the dynasty side. Losing BLD sucks but it is a high cost guy I can swap for a nice 2 drop. You said run Assassination over Spreading the Darkness, and I guess my only question their is you recommend a full swap and run x2 Assassinations or just a one of?
I'd run 2x assassination over 2x spreading the darkness. This is my opinion without testing it though. Hard to tell without piloting it.
Fair enough. I had a version that ran 3 WotC and 1 Assassination might go back to that set up. Really give them the pinch.
